The product is transported by a belt in the machine. The integrated air-injection system fully submerges the produce in water. The turbulence loosens the sand etc. from the product.
The sand sinks to the bottom. Because of the conical design of the washer, the particles collect centrally.
The tank is equipped with a large manhole opening, meaning it is easily accessible for maintenance and cleaning.
The water and product are separated on the outfeed side. The outfeed belt is equipped with a spray bar to rinse the produce with clean water before it goes to the first washing stage.
Product specification
The leafy vegetable desander is specially designed to remove small stones, clay granules and sand particles from lamb’s lettuce, for example.
Capacity
The capacity of the leafy vegetable desander is 1,000 kg per hour (2,200 lbs). The capacity depends on the amount of sand residues in the product.
